ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It can manifest in both children and adults. Children who have this disorder may have trouble paying attention and may engage in hyperactive behavior. As they get older, adults with ADHD may have trouble managing time, staying organized, setting goals, and holding down a job.
The term ADHD can get thrown around loosely, but we understand how serious it is. We customize an approach for our ADHD patients that may include therapy, medication and lifestyle changes to try and get the condition under control. In doing so, we provide a treatment that can help those living with ADHD become more productive and enjoy a higher quality of life.
Group therapy can be effective in the treatment of behavioral and mental disorders, substance abuse issues, marital issues and more. Not only does it give a patient an opportunity to communicate and express themselves, but it also lets them know they are not alone. It provides a support group for the individuals involved. It provides an outlet for socialization and a forum for different views to be introduced. All this is valuable in helping patients to learn, grow and increase their own self-awareness.
