At AMS, we start by looking at the cause of the mood disorder. This will help us to treat the problem at its root. From there, we take a customized approach that may include therapy, medications and lifestyle changes to help stabilize moods allowing people to take more control over their lives. With treatment, individuals are able to become happier, more productive, have healthier relationships with others and an improved quality of life overall.
Group therapy can be effective in the treatment of behavioral and mental disorders, substance abuse issues, marital issues and more. Not only does it give a patient an opportunity to communicate and express themselves, but it also lets them know they are not alone. It provides a support group for the individuals involved. It provides an outlet for socialization and a forum for different views to be introduced. All this is valuable in helping patients to learn, grow and increase their own self-awareness.
