Living with depression can make everything feel harder than it should. Treatments that do not work the way you hoped can leave you feeling discouraged and unsure about what to try next. Feeling unable to find the right treatment option can be just as challenging as the symptoms themselves.
The good news is that you may still have options worth exploring. Learning how NeuroStar TMS therapy in Sugar Land works can help you decide if NeuroStar TMS is worth pursuing. At AMS Health & Wellness, our approach is supportive and encouraging, helping you feel heard as you work toward real change.
When you are considering a new treatment, results matter. NeuroStar TMS therapy has been studied extensively and is FDA-cleared for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). It is frequently recommended for people who have tried antidepressant medications without enough relief. Research has shown that with each additional medication trial, the chances of remission decrease, while side effects and treatment dropouts increase. This research highlights an important reality: Medications are not always the answer, and trying something different can make sense.
In a major clinical study, 83% of patients experienced improvement with NeuroStar TMS therapy (Sackeim HA, et al. (2020). J Affective Disorders, 277(12):65-74.). For many people, that improvement means better mood, more energy, and an easier time engaging with daily life. These results show patients in Sugar Land that NeuroStar TMS Therapy has a proven foundation and works for many people.
At AMS Health & Wellness, our focus is on helping you develop positive progress during and after treatment. Care is collaborative, recognizing that while the therapy does important work, your engagement and effort also contribute to lasting improvement.
Understanding what treatment looks like can ease a lot of anxiety. NeuroStar TMS therapy uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. TMS works by gently activating them, helping restore healthier communication in the brain. The treatment does not involve surgery or anesthesia, and you remain awake and comfortable during each session.
Sugar Land patients may also find it helpful to learn what NeuroStar TMS Therapy sessions feel like. Most people describe a tapping sensation on the scalp. Sessions typically last under an hour, and you can return to your normal activities afterward. This makes it easier to fit treatment into your daily life without major disruption.
At AMS Health & Wellness, the treatment experience goes beyond the technology itself. We have designed the space to feel warm, calm, and welcoming, not sterile or intimidating. The staff takes time to listen and understand what you are going through. We support you every step of the way, while also encouraging you to take an active role in your progress.
Depression can make you feel isolated and exhausted, especially after other treatments have not been effective. NeuroStar TMS therapy offers another option by addressing brain activity directly and acknowledging that medication alone does not help everyone. With strong clinical results, a clear scientific foundation, and benefits that can extend through a year, this therapy offers real hope when you need it most.
