If you have been living with depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and feel like previous treatments have not provided the relief you need, you are not alone. Many people continue searching for a better treatment option that fits their individual needs, especially when traditional approaches have not led to meaningful improvement. Learning whether you may be among the candidates for NeuroStar TMS therapy in Katy can be an important first step toward finding a new way forward.

At AMS Health & Wellness, we are committed to listening to your story and understanding your goals. NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy is a non-invasive treatment designed for individuals whose symptoms have not improved with traditional therapies. For those exploring alternative depression or OCD treatment options, TMS therapy may offer additional support during a difficult time.

Who May Be a Good Fit for TMS Therapy?

Depression and OCD affect everyone differently, which is why we offer personalized treatment. You may be an eligible Katy patient for NeuroStar TMS treatment if your health care provider has diagnosed you with major depressive disorder (MDD) or OCD and you have not experienced enough relief from antidepressant or other medications.

Many individuals pursue TMS therapy after trying two or more medications without achieving the improvement they hoped for. Because NeuroStar TMS therapy does not rely on medication, it may be an appealing option if you are seeking a different approach to treatment. NeuroStar TMS may also be appropriate if you want a non-surgical treatment option that does not require anesthesia or sedation. Since we perform treatment sessions on an outpatient basis, most patients can return to their normal daily activities afterward.

Factors We Consider During Your Evaluation

At AMS Health & Wellness, we believe compassionate, personalized care is essential. During your evaluation, our team reviews several factors to determine whether NeuroStar TMS is appropriate for patients in Katy. These factors include:

  • Medical history
  • Current symptoms
  • Previous treatments
  • Overall mental health

We also consider whether any additional health conditions could affect your care plan. Because NeuroStar TMS therapy stimulates brain regions associated with mood regulation, we carefully evaluate whether it aligns with your diagnosis and treatment goals.

When TMS Therapy May Not Be Recommended

Although NeuroStar TMS therapy has helped many individuals manage depression and OCD symptoms, we may not recommend it for everyone. Certain medical conditions or having metal implants in or around the head may affect whether treatment is appropriate.

Some neurological conditions may also make TMS therapy unsuitable. If NeuroStar TMS is not the right fit for your situation, our team will discuss other supportive treatment options in Katy to help you receive care tailored to your needs.
