Living with anxious depression often means dealing with overlapping and competing symptoms. You may feel low, tired, or disconnected, but also busy, restless, or on edge. This combination can make it hard to focus, sleep, or feel at ease in your daily life.

NeuroStar TMS therapy for anxious depression in Katy offers a different way to approach these challenges. At AMS Health & Wellness, we center care around helping you feel supported while addressing both the emotional and physical sides of the mental health condition you are experiencing. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain linked to mood and anxiety. This can help improve how your brain regulates both depressive and anxiety symptoms over time.

How Does NeuroStar TMS Therapy Target Symptoms of Anxious Depression?

NeuroStar TMS therapy focuses on specific regions of the brain that play a role in mood regulation and anxiety. Depression and anxiety involve changes in brain activity, particularly in areas such as the prefrontal cortex. NeuroStar TMS helps stimulate these areas in a controlled and non-invasive way, which can support more balanced brain function.

During treatment, we place a small device on your scalp to deliver magnetic pulses through the skull to targeted brain regions. You remain awake and aware the entire time, and there is no need for sedation. Many people choose this option because it does not involve the same type of common systemic side effects that can come with medication.

At AMS Health & Wellness, transcranial magnetic stimulation for anxious depression in Katy patients is part of a broad treatment plan that considers your whole experience. This includes therapy, lifestyle support, and open communication with your care team. We do not expect you to simply wait and hope for change. You are an active part of the process, and your input matters as you work toward feeling better.

What You May Notice as You Progress Through NeuroStar TMS Treatment

Before you begin NeuroStar TMS therapy, we will take time to understand your symptoms and your goals. We will then create a personalized treatment plan to fit your needs.

We usually schedule NeuroStar TMS sessions five days per week over a period of seven weeks to build consistent results. Each session is typically short, often lasting about 20 minutes. You sit in a comfortable chair and may feel a light tapping sensation during the treatment, which most people find easy to tolerate. After your session, you can return to your normal routine right away.

As you continue with your TMS treatment plan for anxious depression in Katy, changes tend to happen gradually. You may start to notice that your thoughts feel less overwhelming or that your mood feels more stable. Some people report better focus, improved sleep, or a greater sense of calm. These changes can build over time, especially when combined with therapy and healthy daily habits.
